472 Students Apply for Advanced Technology School Entrance Exams in Homs and Aleppo
472 students applied for admission exams in Homs and Aleppo to select 100 students for the first cohort.

214 students took the national standardized admission test for the Advanced Technology School in Homs on Tuesday, held at Abd al-Hamid al-Zahrawi School, to select 100 students for the first cohort in preparation for studies starting in early November.

In the same context, Deputy Minister of Education and Teaching Ahmed al-Hasan confirmed that the exam implements the directives related to Presidential Decree No. 183 of 2026, noting that these schools represent a new pathway aimed at bridging the gap between academic education and the labor market. He indicated that the pathway was established in Damascus, Homs, and Aleppo, with plans to expand it in the future.

For his part, 258 students in Aleppo applied for the admission exams after achieving a grade of 85 percent. Engineer Ala al-Din al-Boushi explained that the questions covered general topics, clarifying that the school focuses on technology and artificial intelligence. Student Osama Moulawi noted he applied after achieving a grade of 90 percent, while student Sandus al-Hussein expressed her desire to specialize in cybersecurity.

The Director of Education in Homs, Malak al-Sbaai, clarified that the exam measures mental and logical skills through multiple-choice questions, noting the requirement of an 85 percent grade for local students and 70 percent for those from outside. Students expressed their aspirations to excel in fields such as technology, robotics, and cybersecurity.

The establishment of these specialized pathways comes within the trend of providing educational opportunities that keep pace with technological developments, helping students build specialized knowledge in areas such as digital and industrial technology.
