7 injured and 3 vehicles burned in settler attacks in the West Bank
Seven people were injured and three vehicles burned during settler attacks on olive harvesters in the West Bank.

At least 7 people, including an American journalist, were injured on Friday as a result of attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against farmers and olive harvesters in several areas in the occupied West Bank, and 3 Palestinian vehicles were burned.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its teams dealt with two injuries resulting from settlers beating farmers while harvesting olives in the town of Abu Fahla, northeast of Ramallah. It clarified that the injured were a 63-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, noting that they were transferred to the hospital.

For his part, the "Al-Bider" rights organization mentioned that the injuries concentrated on the head, back, and hand, while a foreign journalist was sprayed with pepper spray during the attack. In the town of Barqa, east of Ramallah, the Society announced that its teams dealt with 4 injuries resulting from a settler attack on farmers.

Local sources told Anadolu that settlers attacked olive harvesters and burned 3 Palestinian vehicles in the Al-Nab'at area in the town of Turmus'aya, northeast of Ramallah. It was mentioned that alarm sirens were sounded in the town to warn residents of the settler attack.

The organization clarified that the American journalist and foreign solidarity activist Heidi Levine was injured as a result of a settler attack on her with the protection of the Israeli army forces, and was transferred to the Consultative Hospital to receive treatment. In the town of Ramon, east of Ramallah, the organization reported that settlers attacked farmers and drove them from their lands while harvesting olives.

It pointed out that settler attacks targeted farmers and olive harvesters in the eastern area of the village of Burin and the town of Majdal Bani Fadel, south of Nablus. In the town of Qal'at, south of Nablus, settlers pursued a Palestinian woman, beat her, and stole her olive harvest.

In the town of Araba, southwest of Jenin, settlers attacked the homes of the Rihala family. These attacks come during the olive harvest season, which constitutes a primary source of livelihood for thousands of Palestinian families in the West Bank.

Palestinian farmers face an escalation in settler attacks during the season, including physical assaults, theft of crops, and preventing access to agricultural lands. Since the start of the genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip since October/November 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and settlers against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, have escalated.
