The official Palestinian news agency "Wafa" and identical local and security sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the towns of Mithlun and Sanur, southeast of Jenin, at dawn on Thursday, July 2, 2026, which resulted in the arrest of five Palestinian youths after raiding the homes of their relatives and tampering with their contents.
This coincided with the raid of the occupation forces into Al-Mareej neighborhood and Street 24 in Nablus, where the forces conducted field investigations with the residents without reporting any arrests, in the context of an ongoing security campaign that further deteriorates the humanitarian and security conditions in all West Bank cities.
Prosecuting workers and confiscating livelihoods
In a statement, the Israeli occupation police announced the arrest of 43 Palestinian workers from the West Bank following a raid on a construction site in the settlement of "Kiryat Ono" in the occupied territories under the pretext of staying and working without permits. The police correspondence indicated that the operation was carried out in cooperation with the Border Guard forces as part of a focused enforcement campaign targeting commercial interests and construction sites, at a time when Palestinian workers are facing extremely harsh economic conditions and high unemployment rates that push them to risk their livelihood as a result of the blockade imposed on the Palestinian territories.
A settlement boom through administrative orders
A statistical and human rights study issued by the Israeli organization "Bimcom" concerned with planning rights revealed a dangerous and unprecedented acceleration in the Israeli government's use of jurisdiction orders as an administrative tool to expand settlements in the West Bank since October 2023.
The results of the official study showed that 114 military orders were issued, which added about 6,200 acres to the settlements' powers and led to the establishment of 53 new settlements, which is equivalent to the total number of orders issued during the past 22 years combined, which permanently closes the door to Palestinian construction or development opportunities in Area C.
Political moves to counter displacement plans
In a press statement issued by its official spokesman, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on the Arab League to convene an emergency Arab summit that goes beyond condemnation and towards practical diplomatic steps to thwart the occupation's plans to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip and destroy the elements of life in it.
This demand coincided with reports broadcast by Israel's Channel 13 revealing that the security agencies and the Mossad had been officially instructed to replace the term "voluntary migration" with the term "freedom of movement plan" to avoid sharp international criticism and obstacles to international law, amid official assurances from the defense minister to implement plans that encourage the departure of Palestinians.
