A widespread technical glitch hits Meta's platforms globally

Meta's platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger) today witnessed a sudden large-scale outage, which led to a partial suspension and paralysis of its services for millions of users around the world, which reflected in the ability to access accounts or use apps normally.

The crash was a sudden logout for a large number of users, difficulty in re-logging in, error messages or blank pages when trying to update content, while the crashes extended to the mobile and web versions of the apps.

At the time of writing, Meta has not issued any official statement explaining the reasons for the outage.
