Yemeni Presidential Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alemi confirmed on Wednesday that the Houthi militia's attacks on civilian airports and residential neighborhoods, and depriving their inhabitants of water, food, and medicine, reveal the nature of this militia, calling for unified efforts to confront its threats.
In the same context, the Yemeni News Agency reported that this came during Al-Alemi's acceptance of credentials from ambassadors of several countries in Yemen, where he addressed the developments of the Houthi militia's escalation, including targeting Aden International Airport and Al-Rayyan Civil Airport, and continuous attacks on the city of Taiz, besieging its residents and shelling its densely populated neighborhoods.
For his part, Al-Alemi stressed that the international community bears responsibility for taking a stance commensurate with the scale of the crimes, moving from condemnation to taking effective measures to implement international legitimacy resolutions, preventing the flow of weapons and technologies to the militia, drying up its funding sources, and ending its ability to threaten Yemen and its neighbors.
He pointed out that the "Yemen Dawn" operation will not stop before completing its objectives, which include liberating the remaining Yemeni territories, restoring state institutions, and extending its authority over the entire national territory, emphasizing that the threat to international navigation comes from the land.
Al-Alemi clarified that the continued control of the port of Hodeidah and Yemeni coasts by the Houthi militia prolongs the crisis and keeps trade routes and energy security hostage, calling on countries participating in maritime coalitions to support the government's efforts to address the source of the threat on the ground.
Earlier, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they had targeted the Houthi militia's airports in Aden and Al-Rayyan International Airport in the city of Mukalla with missiles during the past hours.
