Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Muhammad Al-Alemi confirmed on Thursday that the Houthi militia's attack on the Maashiq Presidential Palace in Aden exposes its inability to confront the Yemeni people's will to restore their national institutions. He stressed that the Yemeni state will continue to carry out its constitutional responsibilities firmly to protect its sovereign facilities and citizens.
In the same context, the Yemeni News Agency "Saba" reported that this came during Al-Alemi's phone calls with members of the Leadership Council, Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami and Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, and Prime Minister Sha'ith Al-Zindani, to inquire about their safety and government members following the Houthi militia's missile and drone attack on the Maashiq Presidential Palace.
Directives to protect institutions
Al-Alemi listened to an initial report from the Leadership Council members and the Prime Minister regarding the effects of the attack and the measures taken to deal with its repercussions. He directed the competent military and security authorities to take necessary measures to protect state institutions, confront terrorist threats, and respond appropriately to threat sources in accordance with the law, ensuring the protection of civilians and civilian property.
The Chairman of the Yemeni Leadership Council confirmed that the Houthi militia's attack on Maashiq Palace represents an extension of its policy of targeting airports, oil facilities, and civilian property in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, and threatening the security of the region and its waterways.
Continuation of the "Yemen Dawn" operation
For his part, the Chairman of the Yemeni Leadership Council reiterated that the "Yemen Dawn" military operation is proceeding according to its declared objectives to restore state institutions and extend its authority over the entire national territory, reaching the capital Sanaa. He stated that the Houthi militia's escalation and attacks on state institutions and civilians reinforce the necessity of ending the coup and preventing the monopoly of weapons and force outside the state framework.
The Yemeni Cabinet had previously confirmed earlier today that the Houthi militia's targeting of the Maashiq Presidential Palace in Aden with missiles and drones, and the resulting deaths and injuries of several guards and workers, exposes its inability to confront the Yemeni people's will to restore state institutions and end the coup.
