Al-Halabi Announces Imminent Release of Competition Results and Faculty Recruitment

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Marwan Al-Halabi announced on Monday that the relevant teams and staff at the ministry continue working to complete academic obligations and university admission competitions according to the specified schedules. The minister pointed to the imminent release of several results and announcements awaited by students and faculty members in Syria.

Results Timelines

Al-Halabi clarified via his Facebook page that the faculty recruitment competition is scheduled to be issued within a week from his statement. He noted that the postgraduate competitions (Master's and PhD) are expected to be issued by the end of this year and the beginning of next year.

Al-Halabi indicated that the relevant teams are making intensive efforts to complete the work on the general competition results, explaining that the ministry aims to announce them at the beginning of next week. Meanwhile, the results of the sorting of preparatory year students will be announced during this current week.

Vacancy Filling Competitions

In this context, the Minister of Higher Education stated that the vacancy filling competition will be launched following the release of the general competition results to fill vacant seats according to established procedures. The open education competition will be announced after the completion of the vacancy filling competition.

Al-Halabi emphasized the continuation of work to complete these obligations and announce their results sequentially, urging students to obtain information and schedules from the official platforms and channels of the ministry and universities, to avoid any inaccurate information or unapproved schedules.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the university admission competitions for the academic year 2026/2027 on September 30 last year, after completing all necessary procedures and data, through a unified and organized electronic mechanism. A wide segment of students and graduates in Syria is awaiting these competitions, especially the results of the general competition and the sorting of preparatory year students, along with postgraduate competitions and the faculty recruitment competition, due to their importance in determining academic and university pathways in the coming stage.
