Al-Husri: Oman Air Peace flights to Syria start tomorrow
Civil Aviation Authority head announces weekly flights from Oman starting next Wednesday.

Omar Al-Husri, head of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport, announced an agreement with Oman Air Peace to begin operating its flights to Syria, starting tomorrow Wednesday, at a rate of two flights per week.

Regulatory and operational arrangements

Al-Husri explained to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the Authority has worked on completing the necessary regulatory arrangements for the start of operations, by following up on licensing requirements and operational permits, and verifying compliance with approved conditions and standards, in coordination with the company and relevant authorities, to ensure flights launch according to safety and security requirements.

Revitalizing air traffic

He pointed out that including Oman Air Peace flights in the network of flights to Syria represents a practical step in implementing the Authority's plan aimed at revitalizing air traffic, expanding available destinations, and enhancing connectivity with regional and international markets, by providing a clear and stimulating regulatory environment for airlines.

Developing the air transport sector

Al-Husri emphasized that the Authority continues to implement its plan to develop the air transport sector, by facilitating regulatory procedures and attracting new carriers, which enhances competition, expands travel options for passengers, and supports the restoration of the role of Syrian airports in regional and international air transport.

A delegation from Oman Air Peace had conducted a field tour at Damascus International Airport on September 28 last, to familiarize itself with the work procedures followed at the airport, and to review the operational and technical aspects related to the company's work to start operating flights between Syria and the Sultanate of Oman, thereby contributing to enhancing air connectivity between the two countries.
