The medical staff at Al-Ittihad Club announced a specific timeline for the gradual return of Malian player Mohamed Dumbia and Saudi player Ahmed Sharahili to participate in first-team training during the current break. This step coincides with the Saudi national team's participation in the Asian Cup, hosted by the Kingdom from January 7 to February 5 next year, according to a source close to "Al-Riyadhia".
The source clarified that the two players are undergoing intensive conditioning programs under the supervision of Spanish specialist Victor Garcia Flores, with Dumbia aged 22 and Sharahili aged 32. Dumbia suffered a cruciate ligament tear during the match against Al-Kholood in the King Abdulaziz Cup semi-final, while Sharahili underwent surgery on his left ankle before the start of the current season.
For his part, Al-Ittihad players continue their daily training after being granted leave last Thursday by decision of German coach Jens Weising, in preparation for the ninth-round match against Al-Shabab on December 19 next. The team's tally stands at 17 points in fourth place, after their loss to Al-Hilal in "the classic" and another loss to Al-Ahli of the UAE in the Elite Asian Champions League.
In the same context, Dumbia, who joined from Belgian Royal Antwerp in summer 2025, scored two goals and provided six assists in 24 matches, while Sharahili's last appearance, who came from Al-Shabab in 2022, was in 36 minutes against Al-Kholood in round 31 of last season.
