Sheikh Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), clarified that the specialized committees within the federation are following up on the developments regarding the decision to postpone the match between the first team of Al Nassr and their guest, the UAE-based Al Wasl, in the third round of the AFC Champions League Elite, and are studying the details of this decision.
Al Khalifa stated in a special interview with 'Al Riyadiah' on Monday that the specialized committees are following up on all details and studying all matters and circumstances completely, pointing out that the matter is not limited to the federation presidency alone.
Coordination with the Saudi Federation
The AFC president added that all matters and developments are being followed up in coordination with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, confirming that everything will be announced at the appropriate time through the adopted system.
Al Nassr was scheduled to face the UAE team on Monday at the 'Al Thumama Stadium' in the third round of the West Group, before the competitions management at the AFC decided on Sunday to reschedule the match, with the new date to be announced later.
