The Aleppo Bar Association branch, in cooperation with the martyrs and detainees committee within the association, organized on Monday a ceremony honoring the families of lawyer martyrs of the revolution, held at the Freedom Hall in the association’s headquarters in the Sabeele district. The event included the inauguration of a board of honor displaying the names and photos of the martyr lawyers, as well as honoring students who passed and excelled in various educational stages from among the lawyers’ children.
The branch president, Kamal Atli, told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the association strove to complete the data and personal photos of all martyrs to immortalize the memory of their sacrifices, noting that the inauguration of the board of honor comes as a tribute to the lawyers who gave their lives. He confirmed that the martyrs’ families committee within the association continues to monitor the needs of their families and provide professional, moral, and academic support to their children.
For his part, Abdul Ghani Shobak, head of the martyrs and detainees committee in the branch, stated in a similar remark that this event represents a step of solidarity and morale, reaffirming standing by the families of martyrs, immortalizing their struggle, and celebrating the academic and educational achievements their children have attained in preparatory, secondary, and university certificates.
Faraj Al-Faraj, son of the martyr lawyer Muhammad Al-Faraj, expressed his appreciation for this initiative, which reflects solidarity and care from the branch toward the children of martyrs, calling for continued educational and living support and providing necessary facilitations for young people to complete their education and secure their future. This honor comes within the framework of ongoing bar and community initiatives to support the pillars of transitional justice and care for martyrs’ families in Aleppo, where July and August of last year saw the organization of commemorative initiatives and service and legal events to support affected families and the children of martyrs across various sectors.
