The Aleppo Municipality, in cooperation with the governorate, has launched the 'Your Eye on Aleppo' application to receive citizens' complaints regarding sanitation conditions, particularly garbage accumulation, overflowing and damaged containers, with the aim of accelerating their resolution and involving residents in monitoring and improving municipal services.
During a SANA camera opinion poll conducted today, Wednesday, several residents expressed their satisfaction with the app's launch, highlighting its ease of use and the time and effort it saves, as it allows complaints to be submitted electronically without the need to visit neighborhood offices or municipal headquarters. Citizen Jumaa Hamza explained that the app provides an easy means to submit complaints about garbage accumulation or dilapidated containers and to quickly forward them to the relevant authorities for resolution.
Hamza pointed out a noticeable improvement in sanitation conditions recently, including an increase in the number of sanitation workers, machinery, and containers, and a decline in garbage piles on streets and near containers. For his part, Abdul Hamid Al-Tarakh, a resident of the Masaken Hnanou district, stated that he downloaded the app and submitted three complaints through it, two of which were resolved, noting that it spares citizens the hassle of visiting neighborhood offices and municipal departments.
Follow-up and Resolution Mechanism Within 24 Hours
Ahmed Termanini, Deputy Chairman of the Aleppo Municipality, clarified that the application receives complaints about overflowing containers, garbage accumulation, illegal dumps, and damaged containers, which are to be resolved within 24 hours by a team of five employees working around the clock, with an automatic tracking system for delayed reports. Termanini added that the municipality is working on developing the app and linking it to a machinery tracking system to accelerate responses to complaints about overflowing containers and resolve them within a maximum of 12 hours.
The launch of the application comes within the efforts of the Aleppo Municipality to develop municipal services, simplify complaint submission procedures, and enhance community oversight, thereby contributing to improving sanitation conditions and responding to citizens' needs in various districts of the city.
