Aleppo: Start of English Track Exams under the 'Athar' Program
Exams for the English track of the Athar teacher development program begin in Aleppo.

The first session exams for the English track, part of the national teacher development program "Athar" organized by the General Secretariat of the Presidency in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, began today, Saturday. The exams are conducted via the electronic platform at approved centers across governorates to measure teachers' competence and develop their teaching skills.

The Information Department Center at the Aleppo Directorate of Education witnessed the targeted teachers taking an automated exam to measure their competencies and apply the skills acquired during the empowerment course. The exam lasted two hours, from 12 noon until 2 pm, with a rate of 30 minutes per candidate, within a track aimed at evaluating and preparing teaching staff.

Aleppo Education Directorate Director Ahmed Obeid clarified that the center was equipped with halls, tablets, and internet connectivity to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam. He noted that the number of candidates at the center reached 25 male and female teachers, distributed across two halls, to enhance the practical capabilities of English teachers and develop their interaction with modern interactive teaching methods.

For her part, English teacher and exam candidate Yumna Afouni stated that the test included the skills and axes covered in the training, with questions focusing on understanding classroom situations and practical application. She pointed out that the program will have a positive impact inside classrooms by transforming the student from a traditional recipient to an active participant who uses English fluently.

For his part, English teacher Akram Muhammad Khair Ramadan from the city of Manbij noted that the exam represents a practical application of the training course, explaining that its questions were designed to measure the teacher's skills and ability to handle teaching problems and manage time. Ramadan considered that the "Athar" program contributes to developing English teaching methods and moving beyond traditional approaches.

The national teacher development program "Athar", supervised by the General Secretariat of the Presidency, launched the first national session for developing English teachers' skills last August 13, under the title "Towards an Interactive and Effective Classroom", in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
