American sets record by creating 5.25-ton rubber ball
Claud Moore of Detroit breaks the world record with a weight of 5,251.69 kilograms after ten years of work.

Claud Moore, from the American city of Detroit, set a world record by creating the largest ball made of rubber bands, weighing approximately 5.25 tons. This achievement came after more than ten years of continuous work assembling and gradually enlarging the ball.

Moore began his project in 2015 after encouragement from his colleagues at work, and the final stages required the help of dozens of family members and friends. The United Press International agency reported that the ball no longer fit in a home garage, necessitating its transfer to a private warehouse.

In the same context, the ball was removed last August with the help of a team of volunteers and lifted by a crane to be transported to Belle Isle in Detroit. The ball underwent official weighing in the presence of a representative from Guinness World Records, recording a weight of 5,251.69 kilograms.

For his part, Moore clarified that his hobby began in childhood and continued during his medical appointments to monitor his hemophilia condition. He noted that this achievement represents a first step toward greater ambitions, including contributing to the fight against hunger in the world.
