Regaining the World Title
American Sheraleen Lambeth has reclaimed the world record for the largest collection of finger puppets, increasing her count to 3,451, surpassing the previous record of 2,978. This achievement, reflecting her passion for making and collecting dolls, confirms her dominance in this field, where she has competed for many years.
A Competition Spanning Five Years
The Guinness World Records website reported on October 16 that Lambeth, a doll-making artist residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, achieved the record on January 18. The competition lasted approximately five years with American Saliknip "Sonny" Molina, who alternated the title with her since 2021.
A History of Exchange and Innovation
Lambeth began collecting and making finger puppets during the coronavirus pandemic, seeking creative activities to practice at home and share with others. She set her first record in 2022 with 563 puppets, before Molina reclaimed the title in 2023 with 1,517 puppets. Lambeth returned in February 2025 to set a new record of 2,540 puppets, but Molina surpassed her later, reaching 2,978 puppets.
Diversity of the Collection and Future Commitment
The collection includes puppets Lambeth bought from second-hand markets and specialized antique shops, others received as gifts from friends worldwide, and handmade models crafted using fabrics and various materials. Lambeth emphasized that collecting and making dolls brought her great joy, noting that regaining the world title is a significant milestone in her artistic career, and she intends to continue expanding her collection and making more puppets.
