American teacher sets Guinness world record with 1,826 push-ups in one hour.

American teacher Laura Hunt set a Guinness World Record as the woman who performed the most push-ups in one hour, completing 1,826 repetitions. The official report was published by the encyclopedia on October 5, coinciding with World Teachers' Day.

The encyclopedia noted that Hunt works as a physical education teacher and sports activities coordinator at Falk School, University of Pittsburgh, in Pennsylvania, USA. She attempted the record-breaking feat on November 8, 2025, and the result was officially recognized by Guinness in June 2026.

It noted that Hunt has over 25 years of experience in physical education. She intensified her training in preparation for the attempt, performing approximately 5,500 push-ups weekly during the preparation period, focusing on developing strength, balance, and endurance. This surpassed the previous record of 1,575 push-ups, held by Canadian Donagh Wild since 2024.

Hunt added that her goal in achieving this record was to encourage her children and students to face challenges and believe in their ability to achieve their goals through perseverance and discipline. She highlighted the importance of regular physical activity in enhancing fitness and strength, and the role of teachers in encouraging younger generations to adopt healthy habits.
