Aoun: Israel has not adhered to the framework formula and continues its violations
President Aoun affirms Israel's non-compliance with the framework formula and ongoing violations, welcoming Arab League support.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun announced on Monday that Israel has not adhered to the "framework formula" signed last June, stressing the continuation of daily Israeli violations in the south of the country. Aoun, during his reception of Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy at the Baabda Presidential Palace, affirmed that diplomatic solution remains the best option as it is less costly than destructive war.

Framework Formula Commitments

For his part, President Aoun pointed out that Israelis have not adhered to the formula, and that the south remains subject to daily violations that hinder the efforts of the Lebanese state to achieve its goals. He stressed that the continuation of these violations will not lead to a result, but will increase Lebanese attachment to their land and rights, considering that it is time for Lebanon to rest.

Arab Support and Unified Stance

Aoun added that he welcomes any effort made by the Arab League to help his country overcome the difficult phase it is going through. For his part, Nabil Fahmy affirmed the League's support for the Lebanese state and its institutions, and rejection of any infringement on the country's sovereignty, stressing that the Arab position is unified towards Lebanon.

Formula Details and Ground Situation

The Arab League Secretary-General indicated his readiness to conduct the necessary communications with Arab and Western countries to support Lebanon, and the League's efforts to translate the Arab position into practical steps and financial support. It is worth noting that the framework formula, signed under US sponsorship on June 26, stipulates a gradual Israeli withdrawal, deployment of the Lebanese army, and disarmament of Hezbollah.

Israel continues its aggression against Lebanon since March 2 last year, resulting in thousands of dead and wounded and the displacement of large numbers, despite the signing of the formula and the occupation of Lebanese areas.
