Apple Expands iPhone Screen Customization Options During Charging
Apple adds enhancements to StandBy mode in iOS 27.3 to customize the screen and display information while charging.

Apple is preparing to add new enhancements to the "StandBy" feature on iPhones through the "iOS 27.3" operating system update, enabling broader options for screen customization and displaying information such as time, calendar, weather, and photos while the phone is charging.

The American website "9to5Mac," specializing in Apple news and technology, reported on Wednesday that the new update includes enhanced interfaces for digital and analog clocks, additional options for colors and design, along with the ability to display custom interfaces for calendar and weather, making it easier to follow appointments and weather conditions without needing to unlock the phone.

The new enhancements also allow displaying photos from shared albums, where users can view photos added by family members or friends in a continuous slideshow on the phone screen. The update also provides the ability to create more than one design for a single interface and switch between them easily, allowing customization of the screen to display the clock at night and another to show appointments and calendar during the day.

Apple first introduced the "StandBy" feature with "iOS 17," allowing the use of the phone screen horizontally while charging to display basic information, making the device resemble a small smart screen. According to the report, the new enhancements will be available on iPhones that support StandBy mode, while the foldable "iPhone Duo" is distinguished by its ability to activate the feature even without being connected to a charger, when placed in certain positions.

These features appeared in the first developer preview version of "iOS 27.3," released by the company in November, with the final version expected to be released to users in December.
