The Arab League and the Arab Parliament affirmed today, Monday, the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty and Jerusalem as its capital, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and halt the occupation's crimes against the Palestinian people.
The Arab League Secretariat welcomed the British recognition of the state of Palestine and the imposition of sanctions on Israeli officials, considering them positive developments towards rectifying historical injustice, while emphasizing the importance of completing the procedures for their implementation and intensifying pressure to halt violations.
For his part, the Arab Parliament renewed its condemnation of the continuation of Israeli crimes, stressing the steadfastness of the Palestinian people's rights to self-determination and the establishment of their state, describing the killings, displacement, and settlement expansion witnessed in Palestinian lands as repercussions of the Balfour Declaration and a historical crime.
The Parliament pointed out that what is happening in Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank constitutes a violation of international law, while the Palestinian people continue their struggle and resilience for more than seven decades to establish their independent state on their land with Jerusalem as its holy capital.
