Arab League Condemns Houthi Attacks on Yemen
The Arab League condemned Houthi militia attacks on Yemeni state institutions and called for an immediate halt to escalation.

The Arab League condemned the Houthi militia's attacks on the Ma'ashiq Presidential Palace, Aden International Airport, and residential neighborhoods in Marib, affirming its full solidarity with the Yemeni government and people.

The League, in a statement on the X platform on Saturday, noted that these attacks represent a highly dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international law rules, pointing out that the continued targeting of Yemeni state institutions reflects a determination to continue the escalation.

Call for an Immediate Halt to Escalation

The League welcomed the Presidential Statement issued by the UN Security Council on October 15, 2026, which included condemnation of the escalating Houthi militia attacks and a call for an immediate halt to the escalation and attacks targeting civilians and civilian facilities.

The League stressed the importance of intensifying Arab and international efforts to reach a comprehensive political settlement for the crisis in Yemen, based on agreed-upon references and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216.

The Arab League reiterated its firm position supporting Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and its support for the Yemeni government and legitimate state institutions, calling on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and take firm measures to stop the attacks.

Last Thursday, the Houthi militia targeted the Ma'ashiq Presidential Palace in Aden with missiles and drones, resulting in the death and injury of several guards and workers there.
