Bayern faces Atletico Madrid in a decisive match amid injuries, while Kane awaits equaling the scoring record.

Decisive Match

The first football team of Atletico Madrid, competing for the top of the Spanish league 'La Liga' with traditional rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid, faces the German team Bayern Munich, leader of the 'Bundesliga', on Tuesday, in the Champions League.

After a strong start with a five-goal clean sheet against Norwegian team Bodø/Glimt, the Bavarian team drew twice, 3-3 with Norwegian team Viking, and 2-2 with Arsenal, the English champions.

Head-to-Head Record

Bayern Munich has not lost in the last three matches against 'Los Rojiblancos', and the latest encounters between the two teams in the group stage of the 2020-2021 season resulted in a 4-0 win for Bayern in Munich, and a 1-1 draw in Madrid.

The Bavarian team won four out of eight encounters between the two, but has not managed to achieve any victory over Atletico on Spanish soil in three previous attempts.

Absences and Injuries

Bayern suffers from injuries, the latest being Moroccan Ismaila Sarr, who underwent surgery on his right ankle after suffering a ligament tear during the match against Borussia Dortmund (2-2), which will keep him out of the fields for about three months, according to media reports, in addition to losing the efforts of striker Serge Gnabry, injured in his left thigh.

Six minutes before the end of regular time, Frenchman Michael Olise also left the field holding his right knee, while Jamal Musiala and Colombian Luis Díaz are recovering from muscle tears they suffered at the end of last September.

Kane and the Record

Attention is focused on Englishman Harry Kane, recently awarded the Ballon d'Or for the best player in the world.

Kane, aged 33, has scored in each of his last ten matches in the Champions League. If the Bayern striker manages to score in the 11th consecutive match at the 'Metropolitano' stadium, he will equal the record in the tournament achieved by Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, currently captain of Al Nassr, between 2017 and 2018 with Real Madrid.
