The Spanish football club Barcelona, leader of La Liga, is counting on its promising star Lamine Yamal when they visit Real Betis, third in the standings, on Saturday, in the ninth round of the league.
The young winger delivered one of his best performances when he led Barcelona to a crushing 4-1 victory over Turkish host Galatasaray in the second round of the Champions League last Tuesday, after the Catalan team secured its tenth win in ten matches this season across all competitions.
The team, managed by German coach Hansi Flick, who continues to deliver strong performances, scored 43 goals during that period, including seven in the last two matches, despite the absence of Brazilian star Raphinha.
Yamal's Performance and Impact
Yamal's dribbling contributed to creating a goal for Englishman Anthony Gordon in Istanbul, and his successful cross resulted in another goal scored by Fermin Lopez. Yamal told Movistar channel: "I dribbled well and paved the way for Gordon, and that is the most important thing; it was effective in the end."
The 19-year-old player was named man of the match and received high praise from his coach after a new performance that confirmed his decisive ability to beat defenders and create danger.
Yamal increased his tally to eight goals and nine assists in ten matches with Barcelona this season.
Attacking Diversity and the Opponent
However, perhaps the most exciting aspect of Barcelona's start is that their attacking strength does not rely on just one player. The absence of Raphinha gave the opportunity to Brazilian Gabriel Jesus, former Arsenal striker, who succeeded in compensating for him.
Barcelona faces the Real Betis team, which is starting strongly under the leadership of Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, the team's coach, at La Cartuja stadium in Seville.
The Andalusian team sits third in the league, five points behind Barcelona and one point ahead of Real Madrid, and has won two matches in the prestigious continental competition.
Upcoming Challenges
After the Betis match, Barcelona awaits a European test against French club Paris Saint-Germain, champions of Europe in the last two years, followed by the Cl谩sico match on October 25 against Real Madrid, managed by Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.
