The American company specializing in decentralized social networks, Bluesky, has expanded the capabilities of its AI-powered tool, "At," to allow users to create websites, games, quizzes, polls, and interactive experiences without requiring advanced programming expertise.
The tech website "TechCrunch" noted in a report published the day before yesterday that the new update expands the tool's functions from creating custom social feeds to developing interactive digital content that can be shared and used within online communities.
For her part, the company's acting CEO, Tony Schneider, stated that the tool aims to enable what she described as "social interactive programming," allowing users to create and share digital experiences with friends and communities, rather than limiting AI-powered programming tools to developing individual projects.
She added that the tool allows users to link their accounts to their digital identity on the "ATProto" protocol, which underpins the "Bluesky" network and several decentralized social applications. It can also suggest project ideas based on information available in public profiles, while supporting the use of various AI models, including open-weight models.
She clarified that one of the tool's advantages lies in the ability to publish experiences created by users and reach an audience via the "Bluesky" network, rather than developing independent websites and applications that struggle to reach users.
The company indicated that expanding the capabilities of "At" comes as part of its efforts to diversify the uses of its platform and encourage developers and communities to create shared digital experiences, alongside working on supporting private data within its protocol, an option the company expects to make available by the end of 2026.
