Arthur Boubas, coach of Al-Ittihad FC, described Saudi Arabia as a great country during a press conference held at the club's headquarters in Dammam on Tuesday, ahead of the match against Kuwaiti team Kafta in the opening round of the Gulf Champions League.
Boubas noted that he first came to Saudi Arabia in 2017, explaining that everything in the country is distinctive, and he did not forget to express condolences to the Saudi people after the recent events in Riyadh.
For his part, the coach addressed the match against Kafta, stating that the team will enter the game with strength to achieve a positive result to please Al-Ittihad fans, emphasizing that preparations are excellent and they delivered a beautiful second half in their last match.
Boubas added that preparations will not change and they will focus on their playing style and imposing their personality regardless of the opponent, whom they certainly respect, pointing out the necessity of focusing on converting chances into goals to secure the three points.
In response to a question about missing chances, the coach confirmed that goals are coming, explaining that they are convinced of their style but emphasized the importance of exploiting opportunities, expecting to reach the opponents' goal without scoring in some matches before scoring in upcoming games.
For his part, Abdullah Al-Khatib, a defender for Al-Ittihad, affirmed their determination to win the championship step by step, starting from the referee's whistle, with the aim of delivering outstanding performances.
Al-Khatib clarified that the Saudi national team winning the title of Gulf Cup 27 after a long absence serves as the greatest motivation for them, noting that every Al-Ittihad player desires to win the title and etch their name in this achievement.
