Yi Feng, representative of the Chinese economic delegation participating in the Syrian-Chinese Forum for Economic Development, confirmed that investment opportunities in Syria are increasing day by day, especially in the field of reconstruction, which is considered one of the most prominent areas currently available. The delegation includes 16 Chinese companies specializing in construction, engineering, building materials, equipment, industry, investment, marketing, and reconstruction.
Feng clarified in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the forum represents a real opportunity to enhance economic relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of continuing to hold investment events and organizing more meetings to discuss cooperation opportunities. He pointed out the necessity of translating the forum's outcomes into practical agreements and partnerships that align with the policies adopted by the Syrian state, subject to continuous follow-up.
For his part, Feng highlighted the importance of establishing a joint center between the Syrian and Chinese sides, headquartered in Damascus, along with a similar center in China, to oversee projects and investments and facilitate procedures for investors. He explained that successful cooperation requires the availability of supply chains, human resources, and continuous follow-up, noting that some Chinese companies have visited Syria more than five times.
The delegation representative emphasized that the Syrian market offers wide investment opportunities in industrial fields, pointing out that transferring industries to Syria represents a promising field for cooperation that allows leveraging Chinese expertise to support Syrian productive sectors. The forum's proceedings began last Tuesday, organized by the Syrian-Chinese Business Council in coordination with the Syrian-Chinese Center for Twinning of Industrial Cities, and in cooperation with the Ministries of Economy, Industry, Internal Trade, and Consumer Protection.
