The Educational Complex in western Daraa, in cooperation with the Syrian Civil Defense, launched on Sunday a cleaning campaign targeting schools in the cities of Da'el and Tafs in the countryside of the governorate, with the aim of improving the service and health reality in schools and providing a safe and clean educational environment for students.
The Complex supervisor Jad Al-Bardan clarified in a statement to SANA that the campaign includes 6 schools in the city of Da'el and 28 schools in the city of Tafs, to enhance the reality of general cleanliness and elevate the educational and pedagogical process. He pointed out that the Complex monitors the educational and pedagogical reality and the level of cleanliness in public schools through daily and continuous field visits to identify their needs and address difficulties.
For his part, the director of the Civil Defense center in Da'el Murad Al-Zoubi mentioned in a similar statement that the campaign is implemented in coordination with the Educational Complex, aiming to maintain school cleanliness, limit the spread of insects, and eliminate waste and rubble, thereby providing a sound and safe school environment for students and workers in the educational sector.
For their part, several residents of the cities of Da'el and Tafs pointed out that a large number of schools in the two cities were subjected to shelling by the fallen regime, which caused damage to their buildings and facilities. The residents explained that the local community, international organizations, and the Directorate of Education and Teaching contributed to the repair and maintenance of some of them, along with the removal of rubble and re-equipping educational facilities to receive students.
The residents, including Mohammed Al-Hasan and Sami Abdul Rahman, emphasized the importance of continuing cleaning and maintenance campaigns, considering them a complementary step to efforts to rehabilitate schools, and the necessity of monitoring their service and health conditions to ensure the safety of students and educational staff, and to preserve the achieved repair and restoration works.
This campaign comes within the framework of efforts aimed at improving the service and health reality in educational institutions in the countryside of Daraa, and enhancing cooperation between the parties concerned with educational and service affairs, especially in light of the need to address the effects of damage that affected a number of schools, and removing rubble and waste from them, which contributes to providing a safe and healthy educational environment.
