The theoretical scientific lectures of the Syrian-French Medical Conference in Deir Ezzor concluded today, Saturday, with approximately 150 scientific lectures presented during the sessions on the latest medical developments, covering 12 medical specialties.
The Director of Health in Deir Ezzor, Dr. Nasser Al-Khalaf, clarified that the sessions witnessed the participation of doctors from various specialties such as general surgery, internal medicine, neurosurgery, and pediatrics, with participation from doctors from France, Britain, Gulf countries, and various Syrian governorates.
For his part, Qahatan Al-Mohammed, head of the Deir Ezzor branch of the Doctors' Syndicate, said the Syndicate followed the preparations for the conference since the decision to hold it was made, considering its convening as an important scientific event held for the first time in the governorate, where complex surgical operations were performed.
The head of the medical campaign at the conference, Mazen Mala Othman, added that the conference aims to bring together Syrian doctors in France and unify their efforts to serve Syria, noting that the choice of Deir Ezzor stemmed from it being the hometown of several participating doctors.
Cardiology specialist Abdullah Masare' spoke about treating heart failure and preventing cardiovascular diseases, while National Hospital Director Obaida Abdul Razzaq outlined the state of neurosurgery and the difficulties resulting from a lack of resources and personnel.
The conference proceedings began yesterday, Friday, at the Badia Al-Sham Hotel, organized by the Union of Syrian Doctors and Pharmacists in France in cooperation with the 'Mihad' organization and the 'French Aid for Syria' organization, aiming to enhance medical cooperation and exchange expertise.
