The Directorate of Technical Services in Quneitra province began, on Tuesday, construction works for an agricultural road in Ras al-Quta village in the southern countryside, aiming to facilitate farmers' access to their lands and improve machinery movement in the area.
The head of the Roads Department in the Directorate, Jassem Jassem, explained that technical teams have started opening the road according to a work plan that includes paving the road and covering it with a layer of residues and coarse gravel, followed by stock and asphalt concrete, over a length of 300 meters and a width of 6 meters, ensuring the road's durability, sustainability, and technical readiness.
For his part, the head of the farmers' association in the village, Muhammad al-Hatimi, clarified that digging this road came in response to the urgent demands of the Farmers' Union to open this vital axis, highlighting the great importance of the project and its positive repercussions on hundreds of hectares of agricultural land, which contributes to reducing production costs.
Residents expressed their satisfaction with the road's construction, emphasizing its importance in alleviating suffering caused by mudslides and mud. Fawaz Khalaf al-Hatimi said the road allows farmers to harvest their crops on time and facilitates irrigation and watering operations.
The implementation of the road comes within the Directorate's plan to improve the service reality in villages of Quneitra province. The Directorate had previously, on September 16, begun construction works for an agricultural road in Awana village to facilitate farmers' access to their lands.
