Damascus Coordination Committees Celebrate Arrest of Maraj Oural
Revolution coordination committees in Damascus held a popular celebration in Al-Midan district upon the arrest of Ali Kayali.

The Damascus Revolution Coordination Committees held a popular celebration on Thursday evening in front of the Munjak Mosque in the Al-Midan district, to mark the arrest of Ali Kayali, known as "Maraj Oural." Participants expressed their joy at the arrest of the criminal Kayali, emphasizing the necessity to continue pursuing the rest of those involved in crimes committed against the Syrian people inside and outside Syria and holding them accountable, thereby ensuring justice for the victims and their families.

Pursuing the Rest of Those Involved

Anas Jabasini, one of the youth of the Damascus Revolution Coordination Committees, told a SANA correspondent: "We are gathered today to celebrate with the residents the arrest of Maraj Oural," expressing his hope for the arrest of more of those involved who caused misery for Syrians over the past 15 years, and his wish that this would cool the hearts of bereaved mothers, the mothers of martyrs.

For his part, Bilal Khallaqi described the arrest of Kayali as "part of justice," expressing his hope to pursue all those involved in shedding the blood of Syrians in Homs, Hama, Idlib, and other Syrian regions. He affirmed that this event represents a step towards achieving justice.

For his part, Bassel Daghstani clarified that their participation in the celebration expresses their joy at the arrest of one of those involved in crimes committed against Syrians, and confirms that pursuing the rest of those involved, inside and outside the country, remains an ongoing demand.

The General Intelligence Directorate had announced earlier today the arrest of Kayali while he was attempting to flee across the border. Kayali is considered one of the main officials responsible for the Bayda and Ras al-Nab' massacres in Banias in 2013, which resulted in the martyrdom of hundreds of civilians, including women and children, with entire families being wiped out.
