The Faculty of Economics at Damascus University concluded, on Tuesday, the activities of a bazaar that lasted three days, with the participation of approximately 100 male and female students from various faculties of the university, to showcase their small projects and handicrafts in the faculty building. This initiative aims to encourage young people to enter the world of entrepreneurship and transform their talents and ideas into projects capable of growth and sustainability.

Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Ali Kanaan, clarified in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the bazaar aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises and encourage students to gain experience in marketing and project management. He pointed out that the faculty seeks to help students invest their skills and turn them into productive projects, rather than limiting themselves to seeking job opportunities after graduation.

For his part, Kanaan emphasized that the bazaar provides students with the opportunity for direct interaction with the public, getting to know market needs, and testing the level of interest in their products, which helps them develop their ideas and improve their projects. He noted that the participation of students from different faculties allows for the exchange of expertise and experiences, and enhances the spirit of initiative, innovation, and teamwork.

On her part, student Sidra Nasser participated with her own project for handmade artistic paintings, stating that she noticed students' interest in the displayed items and their eagerness to inquire about them. She considered that such initiatives allow project owners to highlight their talents and products, expand the circle of awareness about their work, and exchange experiences with other participants.

Student Israa Najib clarified that her participation aims to reach as many interested people as possible in handicrafts and to showcase her passion for this field. She pointed out that participating in bazaars is not limited to achieving direct sales, but represents an opportunity to build a presence for the project and promote it, which may reflect on its spread and financial returns later.

Najib believed that holding the bazaar within the Faculty of Economics gives it special importance, as it allows access to a wide segment of youth and students, and introduces them to diverse products and projects. This initiative highlights the role of university activities in providing practical spaces for students to test their ideas and showcase their creativity, and to strengthen the culture of freelancing and entrepreneurship.
