The Daraa Provincial Council has referred the file of "trailer and semi-trailer" truck licenses in the Transport Directorate to the Central Supervision and Inspection Authority, to verify the existence of potential violations related to the issuance of licenses without presenting the required inspection documents and engineering plans.
For his part, Riyad Al-Rakab, a member of the Executive Office of the Provincial Council, clarified that the referral came as part of following up on the file in cooperation with internal supervision, after reviewing the procedures followed in the Transport Directorate and the data related to licenses during the years 2025 and 2026.
Al-Rakab pointed out that the data showed the issuance of 4,200 licenses during the mentioned period, while a review by the Daraa branch of the Engineers Syndicate revealed that the number of engineering plans provided to the Transport Directorate amounted to only nine plans, which necessitated referring the entire file to verify the circumstances and determine responsibilities.
According to the Engineers Syndicate branch, registration procedures require the preparation of an approved engineering plan that includes technical specifications, dimensions, loads, and weights, ensuring that the registered data matches the required technical documents in accordance with prevailing regulations.
