Spanish player Alejandro Davidovich Fokina made a significant jump in the ATP rankings, climbing 13 places to reach 13th, his best career ranking at age 27, following his victory in the 1000-point Shanghai Masters.
Meanwhile, his runner-up and compatriot Rafael Khodja, aged 20, is nearing the top ten, having risen two spots to 11th. In the same context, the finalists of the 2025 Shanghai final saw a sharp decline: Monaco鈥檚 Valentin Vacherot dropped 18 places to 32, while his French cousin Arthur Rinderknech fell 28 places to 61.
It was noted that second-ranked German Alexander Zverev is gradually approaching the world number one spot from Italian Jannik Sinner, a position he could reach starting November 2. With the season nearing its end, three players have already qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin, scheduled for November 15-22: Zverev, Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, and American Ben Shelton.
Sinner has mathematically secured his qualification, but his season ended due to injury. This leaves five spots available, with the Paris tournament (November 2-8) remaining as the last Masters 1000 event of the season. Among the main candidates for qualification are French player Arthur Fils, Khodja, and Serbian Novak Djokovic.
