Deir Ezzor Agricultural Bank Completes 75% of Wheat Payments
Deir Ezzor Agricultural Bank completes 75% of wheat payments to farmers with a plan to finish the rest by month-end.

The Cooperative Agricultural Bank in Deir Ezzor Governorate completed, on Wednesday, the disbursement of this year's wheat entitlements at a rate ranging between 70 to 75 percent, amid growing demands from farmers to accelerate the settlement of remaining dues, coinciding with preparations in the agricultural sector for the start of the new season.

The director of the Cooperative Agricultural Bank in Deir Ezzor, Mohammed Al-Akl, told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the bank's six branches spread across the governorate continue to actively disburse wheat values to farmers in both the public and private sectors, noting that the disbursement process is proceeding smoothly and well, reflecting consistency in institutional performance.

Al-Akl pointed out that the Central Bank is making intensive efforts to secure the necessary liquidity, which is currently at a good level, explaining that there is a clear plan to complete the disbursement of farmers' entitlements for this year by the end of the current month, ensuring full coverage of outstanding financial obligations.

For his part, Marwan Al-Khalaf, a member of the Executive Office for Financial Affairs and Banks, indicated that liquidity in the banks designated for disbursing farmers' entitlements in the governorate has been strengthened, noting its current stability, with promises to increase it in the future to ensure the continuity of support.

Farmers Bassam Mohammed Al-Ali and Mohammed Hassan Al-Abdullah called for support for the wheat crop and the provision of necessary facilitations to encourage its cultivation, contributing to enhancing the stability of local production, in addition to paying their wheat crop entitlements in a single installment to alleviate burdens.

Completing the settlement of wheat farmers' entitlements is of special importance as the date for the new agricultural season approaches, as farmers need financial liquidity to secure seeds, fertilizers, and fuels, and to prepare and plow the land, helping them continue the production process successfully.
