Deputy Minister of Education and Learning Yousef Anan, accompanied by the Director of Education in Hama Governorate Ahmed Al-Madloush, inspected the status of several schools in northern rural Hama and their needs, particularly technical equipment and heating facilities, on Monday.
The tour included schools in Al-Hamamiyat village and the cities of Al-Lataminah and Kafr Zayta, which were rehabilitated and restored as part of the "Fidaa for Hama" campaign, in cooperation with international organizations and civil society. Anan explained in a statement to SANA that the tour aims to inspect the status of schools and their equipment, including heaters, fuel, and necessary logistical supplies during the winter season.
Anan pointed out that northern rural Hama suffered widespread damage to its infrastructure, including schools, due to the practices of the tyrannical regime, emphasizing that the Ministry is working to rehabilitate and equip schools in cooperation with all parties to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their original areas and contribute to reconstruction.
For his part, Al-Madloush indicated a growing interest among students in enrolling in schools during the new academic year, especially in northern rural Hama, noting that new schools will soon open in the northern and eastern rural areas and the Ghab and Jabal Shashbo regions, after the completion of rehabilitation and restoration works.
In turn, the director of Al-Lataminah Boys' Secondary School, Asim Al-Saloum, stated that the educational delegation's visit allowed for presenting the school's and students' needs, particularly securing heating facilities, noting an improvement in the educational process in the city compared to last year, due to the entry of new schools into service and an increase in the number of enrolled students.
Student Sham Al-Mahmoud expressed her happiness at returning to her school in Al-Lataminah and meeting her classmates, after spending seven years in camp schools in Atmah. The Hama Directorate of Education and Learning had opened an educational complex comprising five schools in Al-Lataminah last June, while the "Fidaa for Hama" campaign signed a memorandum of understanding with the "Al-Am T" foundation in late August to restore nine schools in rural Hama, at a cost of one million dollars.
