The Mar Ephrem Development Authority, with support from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and under the supervision of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor in Deir Ezzor, announced the completion of distributing 1,167 non-food aid packages to families returning from displacement in the towns of Al-Salihiya and Al-Husniya, as part of the first phase of this aid.
Mohammed Al-Zahir, director of the Operations Center for Social Affairs, explained that the distribution targeted families returning from outside Syria, from camps, and from northern Syria regions, noting that the number of beneficiary families reached 624 in Al-Salihiya and 260 in Al-Husniya, adding that the current aid represents the complementary winter package.
For his part, beneficiary Iyad Aswad Al-Assaf, who returned to the village of Al-Salihiya, confirmed that he received winter clothing in the current phase after receiving household supplies in the first phase, praising the importance of these initiatives in helping residents cope with difficult living conditions.
The first phase, implemented last August, targeted returning families in new villages and included non-food aid comprising foam pieces, mats, blankets, and household supplies. The Mar Ephrem Syriac Patriarchate Development Authority operates as a non-profit humanitarian organization providing relief assistance and health and educational services.
