Document: Houthis commit 164 violations in Yemen within 48 hours
Yemeni Network for Human Rights and Freedoms confirms Houthi militia committed 164 violations against civilians in Taiz and Lahej in 48 hours.

The Yemeni Network for Human Rights and Freedows documented that the Houthi militia committed 164 crimes and violations against civilians and civilian property in the governorates of Taiz and Lahej over the past 48 hours, coinciding with the continuation of the siege and tightening restrictions on civilian movement and the arrival of basic supplies.

The Network stated in its report published today, Tuesday, that the militia fired approximately 450 projectiles on populated neighborhoods and areas, resulting in the death of 28 civilians, including five children and three women, and injuring 57 others, including 14 children and six women, as well as 10 workers in the health sector.

Details of Violations and Damages

The documented incidents included killing and injury by shelling and sniping, committing two massacres, abduction and detention, targeting residential neighborhoods, public roads, and ambulance crews, in addition to monitoring recruitment and conscription operations for youth from marginalized groups. The damages affected 51 homes and health facilities, including ten homes completely destroyed in the Masrak directorate and the villages of Duba and Adoud.

The field team also documented a wide campaign of abductions in the Huban, Al-Turbah, and Western Coast areas, affecting 16 citizens who were taken to unknown locations, while 12 private vehicles belonging to citizens were damaged. Fourteen Yemenis were killed and 25 others injured due to the fall of a failed-launch ballistic missile south of Taiz, in addition to the death of five people and injuries to 15 others in a strike targeting the Al-Saqiya Health Center in Lahej.

Continuous Escalation

The Yemeni Network for Human Rights and Freedoms had previously documented in a report issued last Sunday that the Houthi militia committed 53 crimes and violations in Taiz, with approximately 417 projectiles fired on residential areas during the previous 48 hours, an escalation that coincided with obstructing the movement of residents and the arrival of supplies.
