Egypt and Jordan condemned today, Monday, the incursion by Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir and groups of settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning of the repercussions of these violations on the status quo at the holy site.
In the same context, Fuad al-Majali, the official spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, affirmed the Kingdom’s absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the continued incursions by ministers, officials, and extremist settlers, stressing that these practices constitute a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
For his part, al-Majali warned of the consequences of continuing these violations, calling on the international community to take a firm stance obliging Israel, as the occupying power, to stop its violations, and affirming that the Jerusalem Waqf Administration, affiliated with the Jordanian Waqf, is the exclusive legal authority for managing the affairs of the Mosque.
For her part, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned in a statement on the "X" platform of the danger of continuing these violations, affirming its rejection of any attempts to change or divide the status quo temporally or spatially, and calling on the international community to bear its responsibilities to stop these practices and respect relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir had previously incursed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque earlier today, under heavy security.
