Spanish coach Luis Enrique, manager of the French first football team Paris Saint-Germain, described the team's Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a "warrior," expressing full confidence in his return stronger than before after suffering a serious knee injury. Enrique pointed out that the player's absence from the fields will be long and has not yet been determined, making the situation difficult for everyone.
In the same context, Enrique stated during a press conference before the match against Olympique Lyonnais on Monday: "His injury is severe, one thinks about what the player will go through, he is very important to us and will remain so." The Spanish coach added: "It is hard to be positive after news like this, we have experience, these are the risks when you are a professional player, you must accept the positive and negative things, this is life, we will see after the operation, he will return stronger, I have no doubt."
For his part, Enrique pointed out other absences in the team ranks, as Ousmane Dembele, Brazilian Marquinhos, and Portuguese Nuno Mendes, injured in the thigh, will be absent for several weeks. He continued: "It will be as usual, I do not want to change anything I have done, but I also want to change everything, that is what you must do to remain unpredictable, it depends on the team and the timing of the season, losing three players in the same match is truly strange, it is a motivation for the team," indicating that he does not wish to sign players this winter.
Regarding his fear of new injuries, the three-time Champions League winner stated: "No, we will not relax, we are a family, there are two or three injured players but this is the competition and the high level, you must accept things, we are the same team with and without injuries, this is football, we played without Dembele almost the entire match against Barcelona, and we played without Marquinhos and Kvara at the end. And we showed that we play the same way. This is our strength." The Georgian suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee and will undergo surgery in the coming days.
