Fadl Shaker was transferred to the hospital after a serious deterioration in his health condition
The Lebanese judiciary has not issued any decision regarding his release

Lebanese media reported that artist Fadl Shaker was rushed to the military hospital on Friday (July 3rd) after suffering a sudden illness inside the prison.

The information circulating indicated that Shaker suffered a significant increase in blood pressure and sugar levels, in addition to blockages in the arteries, which raised fears that he may have suffered from cardiac arrest, which necessitated his transfer to the hospital and receiving medical care.

It is noteworthy that Shakir's attorney, lawyer Amata Mubarak, denied the authenticity of the information circulated on some pages on social media, which talked about the military court's approval of  his release in 3 files, pending the resolution of the fourth file in the coming hours.

She confirmed that no official decision has been issued so far related to Shakir's release, stressing that what is being discussed in this context is inaccurate, and that the file is still within its legal track pending any judicial update issued by the competent authorities.

The Permanent Military Court, headed by Brigadier General Wassim Fayyad, postponed until August 5 the trial of artist Fadl Shaker in four security cases filed against him.

Fadl Shaker turned himself in to the Lebanese Armed Forces Intelligence in October 2025 to close his judicial file related to the events in Abra after more than 10 years in hiding.

4 Heavy Charges Reopen the Abra File After 13 Years

Fadl Shaker faces four direct criminal charges before the military court in Beirut related to his time with the Sheikh Ahmed al-Asir group and the events in the town of Abra in 2013, a stage that is considered one of the most sensitive cases in the Lebanese judiciary due to its security and military nature.

The case brought Shaker back to the judicial front, where the charges against him are divided into  four main points, including forming an armed organization, inciting murder, possessing weapons of war, and undermining the prestige of the state, which are classified as major crimes under Lebanese law.

The first charges relate to the formation and affiliation of an illegal armed organization, where Shaker  is accused of co-founding it alongside Sheikh al-Asir with the aim of carrying out acts classified as terrorism, including attacking Lebanese army positions during the battles of Abra

He also faces charges of incitement to kill army officers and personnel, including providing financial and logistical support for operations targeting the military establishment during that period,  as well as possessing weapons of war, rockets, and explosive materials without a license, transporting and using them within populated areas, a charge that the military court emphasizes due to their danger to public security. The fourth charge relates to undermining the prestige of the state and inciting sectarian strife through statements and videos published during that stage, which were considered offensive to the Lebanese army and state institutions.
