Lebanese artist Fadl Shakir appeared before the "Riyadh Season" audience after a 14-year absence, amidst a massive crowd that filled the seats of Abu Bakr Salem Theater in the "Boulevard City" area, in a special concert befitting the return of the "absentee" after years he described as "difficult days," in a night full of surprises and emotions.
The concert began with a visual presentation showcasing the regions of "Riyadh Season," a scene that marked the launch of the seventh edition of the season, and ended with the voice of Turki Al Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, saying: "Welcome to Riyadh Season." Amidst the applause of thousands and their chants, fireworks lit up the sky of the theater at the moment of Fadl Shakir's entrance, in a grand reception for this long-awaited appearance.
Concert Surprises
The audience repeated his name with great enthusiasm, and the artist expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the people of Riyadh on several occasions for the warm welcome, thanking Turki Al Sheikh, "Riyadh Season," the General Entertainment Authority, "Bench Mark" company, and the audience who shared this anticipated return. Fadl Shakir opened his musical segment, which was accompanied by Maestro Majd Jarida, with the song "Except With You," followed by "Love and Only," "Oh Absentee," and "Love of the South."
Before the theater witnessed the first surprise of the night with the entrance of his son, artist Muhammad Shakir, who joined his father in singing "How Are You on My Bed" in a "duet" that united them on stage for the first time, in an exceptional moment that received great interaction from the audience, before they presented the song "The Moon is Mine." Fadl Shakir then returned to continue singing solo, presenting "Soul of the Sea," "I Missed You," and "Soul."
Artistic Collaborations
Before the night brought a second surprise with the entrance of the Gulf guitar artist Nawal, who joined him in performing the song "I Try" in a "duet" that united two of the most prominent Arabic singing voices, with noticeable interaction from the attendees. Nawal expressed her great happiness at the return of artist Fadl Shakir through the door of "Riyadh Season," emphasizing that this theater is the place befitting his return.
Fadl Shakir continued his musical journey with the audience, moving between a group of his most famous songs, which are "Oh Life of the Soul," "The World Smiled," "Seller of Hearts," "We Parted," "Longing Woke You," and "Where Are Your Nights," before the curtain fell on the return night with the song "Except With You," which he chose to end the concert as he began it, amidst the applause of the audience.
Following the concert, artist Shakir expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Turki Al Sheikh, praising his support for art and artists in the Arab world, and wishing him continued health and success. It is worth noting that the echoes of this return were not limited to those present at Abu Bakr Salem Theater, as the concert was broadcast live via more than 12 TV channels, radio stations, and platforms, reaching a wide audience around the world.
