The autumn season events of the Fog Performing Arts Festival continue in the Italian city of Milan, organized by the Milan Triennale Foundation from September 19 until November 15, 2026. The program combines theater, dance, contemporary performance, and music, featuring artists and troupes from various countries, and presents experiences that blend movement, sound, image, and audience interaction.
Among the works included in the program is "Shimmering" by South Korean artist Yanghee Lee, scheduled for October 23 and 24, which blends elements of 1990s musical culture with a contemporary performance experience. The program includes works that transcend traditional theatrical presentation forms, including "Stanza Milano" by Italian artists Gaetano Palermo and Michele Petrosino, scheduled from November 4 to 8 at the "Goya" metro station in Milan.
The work presents a solo performance inside a room, where the performer spends hours daily with closed eyes, while the audience enters sequentially, in an experience exploring sleep, isolation, and privacy. Additionally, Italian artist Chiara Bersani presents "The Lovely Gears" on November 13 and 14, based on the convergence of movement practice and architectural thinking. The work invites the audience to enter a space featuring gears, joints, bodies, and wooden structures.
The festival includes accompanying workshops, such as "Creep Experience, Creep Futures" presented by Brandon Labelle on November 15, opening a discussion on disability experiences and accessibility. In an article published by "Huffington Post Italia" on October 9, critic Mario De Santis addressed the festival's trend toward exploring new languages in performing arts, highlighting the experience of Lithuanian artist Lina Lapelyte's "Mad Works."
The critic noted that some performances were characterized by a density of artistic and experimental elements, making their reception an intense intellectual and sensory experience. The festival reflects a trend toward diversifying forms of artistic expression and enhancing dialogue between different cultural experiences, by providing the audience with the opportunity to explore modern trends in theater and performing arts.
