Former Israeli conscript Ayelet Kroizer, the new spokesperson for the "Breaking the Silence" organization, revealed manipulation practices by the "IDF Spokesperson Unit" regarding the provision of information to the public about military operations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Kroizer explained, in a post detailing her experience, that the unit was attached to "innocent Palestinians" described as "saboteurs," and manipulated the formation of reality's image in a problematic way.
In the same context, Kroizer pointed out her upbringing in the Haredi community, the cancellation of her exemption from service three years ago, and her joining the army to participate in "defending the state." She explained that she did not expect her service to end with work in the organization, noting that the goal of working with the Israeli public was to enhance trust in the army, while the right to know was secondary, whereas with the international public it was to enhance military legitimacy.
For its part, Channel 7 Hebrew considered Kroizer's revelation an "attack" on the IDF Spokesperson Unit. Kroizer confirmed that she learned to draft news of dozens of deaths by automatically adding expressions of regret, calling on soldiers not to remain silent. Earlier, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 15 killed, raising the total to 74,609 since October 8, 2023, with 90 percent of infrastructure destroyed and reconstruction costs estimated at 71.4 billion dollars.
Sources added that Israel prevents the entry of food and medical supplies, where 2.4 million Palestinians live in catastrophic conditions. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant, while the International Court of Justice is considering South Africa's lawsuit accusing Israel of genocide.
