Four humanitarian and security crises worsen in Gaza amid Israeli electoral competition
Gaza's humanitarian and security crises deepen as Israeli election rhetoric intensifies the blockade and violations.

Humanitarian and security crises in the Gaza Strip have worsened in recent weeks, as extremist Israeli rhetoric toward Palestinians has become a tool for competition in the Knesset elections scheduled for Tuesday. This has negatively impacted the lives of Palestinians due to tightened blockades and field violations.

On October 19, the World Food Programme announced a reduction of its aid in the Strip by about one-third, depriving approximately 500,000 Palestinians of food support. The number of beneficiaries dropped from 1.6 million in September to 1.1 million in October, amid funding shortages that fell to less than half of previous levels.

For his part, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced on October 21 that generator oils necessary for running hospitals had run out, warning of the cessation of life-saving medical services. Meanwhile, the Israeli military revealed the westward movement of the "Yellow Line," causing Palestinian families to flee areas such as Shuja'iyya.

Data from the Ministry of Health indicated a 40 percent rise in the number of Palestinian casualties between October 2 and 21 compared to the same period in September, recording 95 deaths versus 68. This occurred despite continued Israeli restrictions on the entry of supplies, even though a ceasefire agreement has been in place since October 10, 2025.
