The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport in Syria clarified the operational mechanism of the Damascus International Airport bus project, launched about a month ago to transport passengers from Barameh and the airport, aiming to provide low-cost transport options as an alternative to high-cost taxis.
The Authority's Media Director, Mustafa Khairallah, confirmed that the fare for transporting a single passenger from Barameh to the airport is 500 Syrian pounds, with 14 daily trips operating, including 10 daytime trips from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 4 nighttime trips at 7:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m., and 4:00 a.m.
In the same context, Khairallah noted that the journey takes less than an hour under normal conditions, but may be affected by traffic or road rehabilitation works on the airport road, urging passengers to depart early, with schedules to be adjusted in the future according to the winter program.
For his part, the Media Director revealed the Authority's study to establish additional departure centers in Damascus, such as the Bulman garage, to expand the service scope and facilitate passenger access, while committing to announcing any changes through official channels and the airport's website.
Passengers expressed satisfaction with the regularity of procedures and the ease of obtaining tickets, calling for an increase in the number of destinations and stations to include sites such as Jisr al-Hurriyah and Jda'at Artauz, to serve the needs of passengers from the governorates.
The Authority added that it closely monitors passenger needs and works to meet them by increasing the number of trips or adjusting their schedules when necessary, to ensure wider options and facilitate access to the airport.
