The General Drinking Water and Sewerage Company in Deir Ezzor, in cooperation with the international organization "CARE", has begun implementing a project to extend main and secondary drinking water networks in three towns in the countryside of the governorate, with a total length of 11,190 meters, aiming to provide drinking water for approximately 22,000 residents.
The company's director, Ahmed Al-Mousa, explained to SANA today, Wednesday, that the project includes the towns of Safira Fawqani, Al-Husseiniya, and Al-Shahil, which will contribute to improving the drinking water situation and expanding the scope of services provided to residents.
Al-Mousa clarified that work in Safira Fawqani involves extending lines with a total length of 3,000 meters with various diameters in the settlements of (Al-Tarad Neighborhood – Abdullah Al-Hasan Settlement), and in Al-Husseiniya with a total length of 3,690 meters with various diameters, covering the settlements of (Abu Arab – Salah Al-Saliha – Al-Ma'youf – Al-Masraf – Al-Bour – Hassan Sheikh – Abu Salam).
He added that the total length in Al-Shahil town is 4,500 meters with various diameters in (Al-Shabaka, Janijil, Haret Balad, Al-Manakish, and Rafiatat), noting that the project will benefit approximately 22,000 residents.

The General Drinking Water and Sewerage Company in Deir Ezzor Governorate had previously launched, in cooperation with the governorate, a project to extend drinking water networks to previously unserved areas, involving laying lines with a length of approximately 19 kilometers distributed across 18 residential settlements in different areas of the governorate, aiming to expand coverage and improve access to drinking water for citizens.
