Launch of a new model for developers
Google has launched the "Gemini 4 Argon" artificial intelligence model, aimed at developers and companies, focusing on executing complex tasks in programming, finance, law, cybersecurity, and science, in a move to enhance its competition with "OpenAI" and "Anthropic".
Reuters reported on Wednesday that the new model is distinguished by its ability to handle multi-step tasks. It is available to developers and companies through Google's tools dedicated to building AI applications, and subscribers to some of the company's packages can access it via the "Gemini" app and the search engine.
Test results and costs
According to the company, tests showed that teams using the model via the "Antigravity" programming tool increased the number of code submissions executed by their AI agents by more than 35 percent, with a reduction in code modification reversals by about one-third.
The entities that tested the model in the early stage included specialized companies and institutions, including "Deloitte", "LexisNexis", "Ambience Health Care", and "Isomorphic Labs". The cost of using the application programming interface starts at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.
Expansion of security and scientific support programs
In the field of cybersecurity, "Google" announced the expansion of the "Firewind" program to include hundreds of additional partners, allowing vetted specialists to use a version of the model without some built-in protection restrictions, aiming to support system security testing and vulnerability discovery.
The company also announced free access for six months to the highest usage tier in the "Antigravity" tool for approximately ten thousand scientists, to support the use of AI technologies in scientific research.
This step comes amid the rapid expansion in the development and deployment of AI models across various sectors, enhancing their ability to perform complex tasks and support professional and research applications.
