Google launches Genie 4 model to create interactive virtual worlds
Google DeepMind introduces an AI model generating realistic virtual worlds with real-time sounds and interactions.

Google DeepMind announced the launch of the new AI model "Genie 4," which enables the creation of highly realistic interactive virtual worlds, allowing for real-time scene modifications and the generation of sounds, music, and dialogues that interact with events within the virtual environment.

The tech site "TechCrunch" reported on Tuesday that the new model represents an advancement in world simulation technologies, allowing users to direct and modify scenes using natural language commands, such as changing the weather, camera angle, or adding new people and objects, with the environment adapting to the requested changes.

In the same context, "Genie 4" is distinguished by its ability to generate ambient sounds, music, and interactive dialogues simultaneously with the scenes, alongside improved simulation of human and physical element movements, including collisions and object motion, making the resulting environments more realistic and explorable.

The report noted that this technology could contribute to the development of video games, creating preliminary visualizations for cinematic scenes, and creating virtual environments for robot training, as well as potential applications in education, simulation, and training for scenarios difficult to test directly in reality.

Google DeepMind clarified that the model is currently available as part of a research preview for a limited group of testers, with plans to expand availability later to subscribers of the "Google AI Ultra" service and partners with early access to Google's developer-specific interfaces and tools.

The company added that the model is still in the research phase, as some details may change or the stability and accuracy of elements may decrease the longer the simulation runs or the more complex the changes become, as researchers continue working on improving the accuracy of physical interactions, sounds, and texts within virtual environments.

This version aims to leverage AI in creating interactive digital environments that go beyond displaying static images and scenes, allowing users to influence events and follow their outcomes, thereby opening new fields for creativity, training, and scientific research.
