Higher Education: New Digital Competition a Qualitative Leap in University Services
Digital competition transforms university admissions, boosting efficiency and national digital readiness.

The Digital Transformation Committee in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research affirmed that the adoption of the new digital competition represents a qualitative leap in university services, consolidating the readiness of the national digital infrastructure and its ability to manage admission processes with high efficiency.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Mohammed Al-Sweid, stated in a statement issued today, Tuesday, that the general competition for university admission witnessed widespread interaction since its launch on October 4, with 231,218 students registered via the digital registry, while the number of students who confirmed their preferences reached 169,062.

For its part, the committee pointed out that data from university competitions in Syrian private universities showed a clear expansion in digital admission options, with 384 students registered in the institute-based admission competition and 137 students in the similar transfer competition.

The committee added that 66 students registered in the transfer competition from Syrian and non-Syrian universities, while the number of students in the competition to change registration from Syrian and non-Syrian universities to Syrian private universities reached 53 students.

The committee indicated that these indicators collectively reflect the success of the digital system in managing admission processes across its various pathways, where official applications contributed to unifying procedures and providing a more flexible and accurate admission environment.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced university admission competitions for the academic year 2026-2027 on September 30, after completing all necessary procedures and data, using a unified and organized electronic mechanism.
