The Homs Electricity Administration began, on Tuesday, works to install new electrical transformation centers and increase the capacity of existing ones in the city of Qusayr in southern Homs countryside, alongside replacing electrical cables, with the aim of improving the state of power supply and enhancing network stability, especially in damaged neighborhoods lacking infrastructure.
Homs Electricity Administration Director, Amer Amin Al-Humada, clarified that the ongoing works, in cooperation with the Qusayr Zone Administration and the "Fajr Al-Qusayr" campaign, include installing a 630 kVA transformation center in Al-Saa'a Square in the city center, increasing the capacity of three transformation centers from 200 to 400 kVA each, in addition to establishing a new 600 kVA transformation center to serve several damaged neighborhoods.
For his part, Qusayr Zone Director, Hassan Muhb Al-Din, stated that six transformers with different capacities were installed in the area, as part of efforts to rehabilitate the network destroyed by the former regime, noting that the "Fajr Al-Qusayr" campaign provided nine tons of cables to support repair and rehabilitation works.
Member of the Board of Trustees of the "Fajr Al-Qusayr" campaign, Muhammad Al-Muhammad, pointed out that the campaign provided electrical cables to the city's electricity company, in response to the growing needs to rehabilitate the network in destroyed neighborhoods, especially the Northern Neighborhood, which suffers from a lack of electrical infrastructure.
For their part, residents of the city emphasized the importance of cooperation in installing meters and curbing violations, which will positively reflect on homes and the industrial and commercial sectors, amid challenges facing the network due to damage to cables, poles, and transformation centers.
