Minister of Public Works and Housing Mustafa Abdul Razzaq emphasized the importance of the Syrian-Chinese Forum for Economic Development in highlighting available investment opportunities in Syria and opening the door to establishing partnerships with Chinese companies across various sectors, contributing to accelerating the construction and reconstruction process and revitalizing the economic engine.
Abdul Razzaq clarified, in a statement to SANA during the forum's proceedings on Tuesday, that the session bringing together the Syrian side and Chinese companies constituted an initial introductory meeting to explore investment opportunities in Syria, followed by technical and detailed bilateral meetings between companies and relevant teams in government entities to discuss areas of cooperation and the possibility of establishing practical partnerships.
Minister Abdul Razzaq pointed out that the importance of these meetings lies in accelerating the pace of economic activity and reconstruction, and benefiting from modern technologies in the construction and reconstruction sector and other sectors, noting that participating Chinese companies operate in diverse fields, and their activity is not limited to the construction sector alone.
Abdul Razzaq also confirmed Syria's welcome to establishing partnerships with friendly countries and companies willing to contribute to the construction and development process, and benefiting from expertise and technologies that support the recovery and reconstruction phase.
The proceedings of the Syrian-Chinese Forum for Economic Development began earlier on Tuesday, organized by the Syrian-Chinese Business Council, in coordination with the Syrian-Chinese Center for Twinning of Industrial Cities, and in cooperation with the Ministries of Economy, and Industry, Internal Trade, and Consumer Protection, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus.
